Organization Overview:

Reunion Resort and Club is part of Ginn Clubs and Resorts, incorporated by Bobby Ginn in 1998 after launching The Club at Hammock Beach in Palm Coast, FL. It is one of seven resort properties in Florida, with other Ginn properties currently being built in South Carolina, Colorado, and on Grand Bahama Island. The mission of Reunion Resort and Club is "To consistently deliver to our members and guests an exceptional hospitality experience and gracious club lifestyle in an unpretentious, sincere and friendly manner."

Reunion Resort is located in the heart of central Florida, just outside Orlando. Boasting three championshiop golf courses, horse stables, a water park complete with a lazy river, brand new tennis facilities, and its very own spa house, Reunion Resort provides an ample amount of relaxing amenities for its members and guests to enjoy. If that is still not enough, guests are only a drive away from the beach or some of the most world famous theme parks!

Internship Position:

Job Description & Duties: As a Recreation Intern, the majority of my time was spent working at the resort's water park, Seven Eagles pool pavilvion, and Activities Center. While there, I was responsible for implementing planned activities for children, directing games and crafts, and assisting members and guests in anything they needed. Other responsibilities included:

-Developing themed camp days for children

-Assisting in planning a four-day Independence Day Celebration with budget

-Creating weekly employee schedules

-Planning special events for resort members

-Coordinating team building activities

-Helping organize and run a bike rental program


Benefits and Opportunities: One of the main benefits of interning at a place like Reunion Resort is exposure to the various elements of hospitality within the tourism industry. You get to meet and work with great people in a very unique atmosphere. Reunion Resort also offers a Manager in Training (MIT) program especially for college graduates. If accepted, you spend a year working in different departments of the resort that will better prepare you to be a manager in that area of focus. Some other things that make this internhsip an awesome experience are:
