Organization Overview:
Pedernales Falls State Park is located in the heart of the Texas Hill Country in Blanco County and lies east of Johnson City. The park was acquired from private owners in 1970 and was opened to the public in 1971. This approximately 5200 acre area was formerly known as the Circle Bar Ranch. Today, visitors can enjoy camping, picnicking, hiking, river swimming, tubing, wading, mountain biking, fishing, bird watching, and horseback riding.
Texas Parks & Wildlife's Mission Statement:
To manage and conserve the natural and cultural resources of Texas and to provide hunting, fishing and outdoor recreation opportunities for the use and enjoyment of present and future generations.
Internship Responsibilities

Job Description:
Under the direction of a Park Superintendent the State parks intern participates in a full range of tasks to learn all aspects of park operations and management which include:
- natural and cultural resource management activities
- facility maintence and management
- interpretation/education programs
- customer service
- park administration
Requirements & Qualifications:
In order to qualify you must:
- be an undergraduate OR graduate college student
- have minimum of 12 semester credit hours
- must have an overall GPA of 2.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale
- must submit an Internship Application Form
- must submit an Authorization and Consent for Disclosure of Criminal History Information
- attach official current transcrip(s) to application

Duties and Achievements:
- Create additional pages for the Employee Interpretive Guide
- Learn to sell Annual State Park Passes
- Check-in campers in for overnight camping
- Work Fee Booth and provide visitors with helpful information
- Day to day facility maintenance and grounds keep
- Assist with relocation of wildlife
- Assist in rescues and river evacuations
