Working as an intern for the City of Bryan offers flexible hours and pay of $7.00 per hour. I have free access to Lake Bryan and have opportunities to engage in activities within the city. Working as an Intern with Bryan Parks and Recreation has taught me many skills that only come with hands-on experience. Getting to know the "ins and outs" of planning city events was a great experience for me. This internship will give me the necessary skills needed to fulfill job opportunities after I graduate. I have been able to network with many other professionals and meet some amazing people.

I have also been able to show my creative side at Bryan Parks and Recreation. My co-workers and supervisors are always willing to consider my opinion in whatever the assignment may be. There are always different types of activities and events to get involved in planning. This job has been a very rewarding experience.

Achievements

I have successfully helped put on small events with the City of Bryan. Those events include a Sponsor Kick-off Dinner for Texas Reds and a Family Camp-out. I have been able to meet new people through these events and it has helped me learn valuable networking skills. I have learned what things go into planning an event such as Texas Reds. I have also learned to be organized with projects and how interact with people in a professional manor.
